Behold Your Little Ones

I overheard Annette, (our Ward Primary President) telling Doug about a new Nursery Manual to be used in his class, (Doug serves in the nursery with Sophia, and he loves it!) Anyway I was able to head to Distribution yesterday and picked it up. "Behold Your Little Ones" is the title, and the manual is fabulous. The pictures are right there in the manual, (Doug has said that when you take longer than 3 seconds to retrieve the picture you want from the old kit, the kids have already lost interest) the pages for coloring are full sized for easy copying, the lessons are all simple, and involve lots of word, poem or song repetition which works perfectly for that age group. It's $5.50 and a must in the home of any nursery aged child. It has been out for only a couple of weeks, so the website doesn't have a picture of it, here's my own lame shot of the cover.

In the News

Doug was interviewed by Deseret News about his education, and here's what they published.

Jennie's first

Do you think she likes it?

Play Memory with me

Okay, I am stealing this from a friend's blog, but I think it will be fun. Here's how it works:

1. As a comment on my blog, leave one or more memories that you and I had together, or just some memory of me. It doesn't matter if you knew me a little or a lot. Anything you remember!

2. Next, re-post these instructions on your blog and see how many people leave a memory about you. If you leave a memory about me, I'll assume you're playing the game and I'll come to your blog and leave one about you. :) If you don't want to play on your blog, or if you don't have a blog, I'll leave my memory of you in my comments or send you an email. (You know, you non-bloggers can still post comments. Just click "comments" below this post...)

Okay, it's that simple. I hope everyone will play! I'm a little disappointed that some of the people I share the most outrageous memories with are missing in my life now... but I know a lot of you remember some fun, silly, or touching moments. Go on, give 'em up! Refresh my memory!

Invitation teaser

The Kramers are in town, and the Chouinards are coming too! So let's have a BBQ in between the towers on Sunday. Doug and I will light the coals at 4. Come to be social or throw your own dead animal on the grill, it's up to you, but mainly just come to see our friends from the east. And, well I'm a shameless lover of sides, so if you would like to bring a side to share, that's always welcome. See you there!

Redman Campground/Yellowstone Prep II

After the broken toe, vomit filled car, diarrhea underwear, shorts and legs, 4 out of 5 air mattresses deflating, our tinfoil dinners got charred to complete ash, and I got peed on two nights in a row, we had a great time. Yeah, after all that.

Um, the theme of this trip you ask? Charlie of course, and well the Bonanna King too (if you choose to watch these clips, be warned that you might have lost 10 precious minutes of your life... you've been warned).

The Cheney's

Ammon, Heather, and Emmalyn love us,

we love them,

and everyone loves playing in the water at Liberty park.

Thanks for spending a lovely day with our family.

Jennie is 9 months old

She crawls, hand-knee, hand-foot pretty well. She cruises furniture super fast, but Dr. VanDenBerghe says to have her crawl for 4 months before letting her walk, so that's our goal. Jennie eats most table foods, non-choke able ones of course. She's been saying mama, and dada for several months now, but as of late, I think she actually associates the words with the people, it's lovely. She totally prefers her daddy to anyone else in the world, second is Uncle Lew, and third is me... I'm the one who takes her to the doc for her shots, I can't expect to be #1 with that on my resume. Jennie has finally cried her first tear, what a happy life to not have cried a real tear for over 8 months:) She giggles, plays contentedly, loves her siblings, naps well, is good in her car seat, loves to pull hair and poke eyes, and she is my first baby to sleep through the night before 12 months what more could a mother ask for?

Jennie's stats: 23.8 pounds (94th percentile), 28.8 inches long (82nd percentile) She's a Crawford baby for sure.

101.1 degrees

Joe and Jennie were sick today. It's so sad to see these bubbly kids down to a simmer. Joe spent the entire day on the couch, or my bed, or the bed downstairs, and didn't eat a single thing all day long. The grand finale was a large cupful of lemon-lime Gatorade puked up all over the bathroom floor. Can't wait till they're back to normal.

The "E" word

Those of you who know me well, know that I love to play. I'm active, I love games of mind and body, but I'm not... well... athletic. I'll do just about anything in the name of fun, which often includes things like hiking, swimming, 5k's and the like, but I've never, before now, been an "E"xercisor (is that a word?). Well I've decided that part of the reason why I'm not so much into the "E" word is because I've always said that I'm not into it. So from now on, if you ask me, I will try to say that I love to exercise, and I swear to not use any hint of sarcasm. Let me practice, (uh, hm).

I love exercise. I love to exercise. I love how exercise makes me feel. I love planning to exercise, and then following through with my plans.

So there you have it, I've turned a new leaf, and I am now a fully fledged exercising person. This new person will soon be leaving the realm of the "F" word (fat)... more to come.
